Alectryon Excelsus (Titoki)

An attractive native tree found in lowland forests from North Cape to Banks Peninsula. It has attractive glossy dark green leaves and is naturally a single leader tree with a spreading canopy, making it an excellent specimen tree. Titoki are OK with a wide range of light conditions, and will thrive in either full sun or partial shade. It has bright red fruit capsules that split to reveal shiny black seeds.

Will grow to about 5m in 10 years
